EU-Canada FTA: Forum for regulatory cooperation – Call for proposals
The European Commission has launched a proposal to identify sectors and issues which are of high interest for regulatory cooperation with Canada. CETA – The Canadian Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement entered into force provisionally in September 2017.
Part of this agreement is to set up a Regulatory Cooperation Forum.
All stakeholders are invited to submit their ideas. The forum shall cooperate on areas of mutual interest which in turn can contribute to safer food and better protection for the environment. It further aims on:
- Reducing regulatory burden
- Reducing administrative burden
- Making trade among the two partners run more smoothly
Deadline for contribution is the 16th of February 2017
